Against an almost empty background stands the silhouette of a donkey casting a majestic, exaggeratedly elongated shadow. The figure of the donkey is compact, even compressed — but its projection is enormous, as if the image of the animal exceeds its physical form.
This work is a reflection on the influence we exert without realizing it. A small creature, full of vulnerability, casts a shadow that resembles a symbol of power, danger, or myth.
The shadow could be a memory, a warning, or a secret twin — it lives its own life. It might be a donkey-hero or a donkey-outcast.
Where does reality end and the symbol begin? How long does our influence last, even after we are gone? The work is done on warm, soft beige paper. It is all about order and measured rhythm — and it feels right that way. That’s just how the order of the world is.
